Untamed

by Glennon Doyle

This memoir exudes overconfidence, its grandiosity overwhelming any sense of authenticity. Doyle’s writing reaches for wisdom, crafting polished, striking phrases designed to leave an impact. Yet, this pursuit of profundity often feels forced, preachy, even, intending to sound insightful rather than organically so. The result is a narrative that comes across as more curated than genuine. Her assured, unwavering tone will likely appeal to a self-absorbed audience, but for me, it felt overly constructed with elements of exaggerated boasting.
