A Wrinkle in Time

by Madeleine L’Engle

An old standby I thought I’d reread as an adult. This is a beloved science fantasy novel that blends adventure, mystery, and themes of good versus evil. The story follows Meg Murry, her younger brother Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin O’Keefe as they embark on a journey through space and time to rescue Meg’s father, a scientist held captive on a distant planet. Guided by three mysterious beings — Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, the children travel across dimensions, encountering the wondrous and the terrifying. The novel holds up to time and technology well, my adult realism definitely takes away from creativity of the novel.
