Dear Edward
by Ann Napolitano
I didn’t hate Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano; actually, I tried tirelessly to like it. The concept itself is great — a lone survivor navigating unimaginable loss, but there was nothing to hold onto. The characters felt flat, the pacing dragged, and while the time jumps were not distracting, I am hard pressed to understand their placement. Ultimately, the emotional weight that should have carried the story never landed and I was left wondering how such a powerful premise could feel so hollow.
