Stoneyard Devotional is a quiet, meditative book that revealed its strength in non-narrative reflections. I appreciated the contemplative tone and even pacing, but honestly, I could have stood to read far less about the mouse problem, traps, live-critter encounters, and the smell of the rodent graveyard. Those sections distracted from the more thoughtful passages that gave the book its subtle charm.
