Be Ready When the Luck Happens
by Ina Garten
Be Ready When the Luck Happens turned out to be a better book than I expected, and it’s another rare exception to my usual rule about authors narrating their own work. The first half, with its stories of her early life and startup journey, was engaging and balanced, offering insight into the real work behind success. However, the latter half became weighed down with excessive name-dropping, which distracted from both the story and the writing, making it feel less immersive than it started.
