We are the Light

I wanted to love this novel, but in the end, I only found it a having elevated readability. It was well-written, but far from exciting. I followed the story, holding out hope for a grand reveal that would raise everything. It wasn’t there, and the book never quite delivered on its buildup. The characters felt unbelievable, and the letter-writing storytelling device came across as more manipulative than effective. Ultimately, it was a letdown for a work that promised so much more.
