The Dutch House
by Ann Patchett
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Tom Hanks, and it was nothing short of perfection. His voice infused the story with warmth, depth, and a striking authenticity— I could see the character through his narration, experiencing each moment as if I were living it alongside him. The plot itself was both heartfelt and achingly beautiful, weaving frustration and hope into a narrative that lingers long after the final words. This book is easily one of my favorites of the year, a masterful combination of storytelling and performance that left me utterly captivated. Not really wanting it to end, when I finished the audio I borrowed the novel from the library.
