The Awakening

The book is a unique blend of fantasy, romance, and self-discovery, weaving together elements of magic, destiny, and deeply personal transformation. I’ll be honest, fantasy isn’t usually my thing. I tend to shy away from anything too heavy on the mythical (Lord of the Rings…ugh), but picked this at the library because of the Irish backdrop. The depth of the characters had a richness that went beyond typical genre boundaries and most of Nora Roberts’ writing. It felt grounded, even with the magical elements; the setting added a beautiful, almost haunting atmosphere. I’m glad I gave it a chance. Will I read the next in the series? Maybe.
