The Crash
by Freida McFadden
Freida McFadden’s The Crash isn’t high literature, but it’s undeniably entertaining and an easy, absorbing read that I finished in an afternoon while my partner was watching soccer. It thrives on fast pacing and twists that keep the momentum going and structurally, follows a How to Get Away with Murder approach; opening with a glimpse of the present moment before diving backward to unravel the events leading up to it. That technique adds to the suspense, but makes the ride a familiar one.
