Sharper Objects
by Gillian Flynn
Gillian Flynn's Sharp Objects, had been circling my TBR list for years, when I finally picked it up. It was a struggle to read. The book felt like a lot of work for a story that ultimately landed as mediocre. While I wanted to connect with the main character, Camille, her development felt both hollow and unbelievable. The internal struggles and relationships with the other characters, particularly her family, never felt fully realized, making it difficult to care about what happened next. By the time I reached the end, I was left underwhelmed and exhausted from the effort of pushing through a narrative that didn't pay off.
