Last Summer at the Golden Hotel

Elyssa Friedland

This was a lively, nostalgia-filled family drama set in the fading grandeur of a Catskills resort. Longtime business partners reunite to decide the fate of their beloved but struggling hotel. Secrets, scandals, and generational tensions unfold as they grapple with whether to sell or revive the once-glamorous retreat. It was entertaining, easily a beach read contender, but felt plodding and formulaic.
