Where'd You Go, Bernadette

by Mara Semple

Semple’s clever and whimsical narrative had me chuckling and shaking my head as I followed Bernadette’s quirky journey through a maze of emails, memos, and absurd family antics. The escapist adventure, filled with unexpected humor and genuine heart, felt like a refreshing reminder of how even the strangest lives can be incredibly captivating. The book’s playful structure and wit made it feel both like an intruging puzzle and an invitation to embrace life’s imperfections. This was marketed as a beach read, but it was so much more than that.
