Calypso

by David Sedaris

Spending time with family is always a mixed bag, especially if you have an opinionated and lively family like this one. I noticed an introspection here; the softness and vulnerability being as hilarious as it is bleak. The Sedaris sharp observations are abundant; as is the tenderness below the punchlines. Although seemingly different from his other works, Calypso does not disappoint.
