This Story Might Save Your Life

by Tiffany Crum

Well, This Story Might Save Your Life kept me interested while I was reading it, and I wasn’t tempted to put it down. The relationship between Benny and Joy provided some of the book's most memorable moments, even when the larger plot felt somewhat unfocused. The writing is accessible and the narrative moves along at a steady pace, making it an good read in the moment. That said, once I finished the book, very little of it stayed with me. In fact, when I went to write this review, I found myself revisiting the summary to remind myself of the details. While Benny and Joy gave me characters to root for, the story as a whole lacked the staying power that makes a book linger in my mind long after the final page. Entertaining enough, but ultimately not one that left a lasting impression.
