The Wedding People
by Alison Espach
The Wedding People held my attention from start to finish with its strange, sharp, and unexpectedly heartfelt take on wedding chaos. It is funny in a dry, sarcastic way that worked especially well for me, and I appreciated the oddity of reading about such an unconventional wedding weekend while planning my own. Espach gives the story real depth through characters who feel distinct, complicated, and well developed rather than simply quirky for the sake of it. The result is a book that is both absurd and emotionally grounded, with enough wit, messiness, and humanity to make it memorable.
