The Rooster Bar
by John Grisham
I actually stumbled on The Rooster Bar by accident while looking for another Grisham title, and I’m glad I did, it turned out to be a fun, fast-moving read. This one leans more toward a lightweight romp than heavy legal drama, with just enough twists and a cliffhanger edge to keep the story moving. What really surprised me was how easily I found myself rooting for the so-called “criminals,” in a way that almost echoes Breaking Bad; you know they’re bending the rules, but you’re still on their side. It’s not exactly highbrow fiction, but it absolutely held my attention and delivered an entertaining ride.
