Pretty Girls

by Karin Slaughter

Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter ultimately proved to be a generally forgettable thriller for me. While its twists didn’t quite leave a lasting impression, it wasn’t so poorly executed that I couldn’t see it through to the end. What lingered most was the dynamic between the sisters, Claire and Lydia; their strained history and the painful echoes of shared trauma added emotional weight to a narrative that otherwise felt more familiar than fresh. That relationship provided the novel’s most compelling thread, offering moments of genuine connection amidst the more conventional suspense.
