Meet Me at the Lake

by Carley Fortune

Wow. Terrible. Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune is a predictable second-chance romance that leans heavily on familiar tropes without offering much originality. The lakeside setting, meant to evoke nostalgia, feels more like a backdrop for a story that unfolds exactly as expected. The characters, while likable enough, lack depth, and they all follow a well-worn path. I don’t want to go to the lake again, but I can see why fans of one-dimensional, escapist romance might enjoy this Danielle Steel wannabe.
