by Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben
I wanted to like Gone Before Goodbye more than I did, but honestly, Reese, stay in your lane. This is a C+ book at best, centered on a disgraced Army surgeon dealing with a devastating personal tragedy who somehow ends up tangled in a story involving a Russian oligarch, because apparently grief and professional ruin weren’t enough. The premise had potential, but the plot felt increasingly far-fetched, the suspense never quite grabbed me, and I found myself questioning the story more than getting lost in it. There were moments that kept me turning the pages, but overall it felt overstuffed and underwhelming.
