The Dictionary of Lost Words presents an inventive and original concept, blending historical fiction with a love for language in a truly unique way. While the story is rich with potential and clearly crafted with care, I found it difficult to maintain concentration and often struggled to remember what came next, which affected my overall enjoyment. I don't place full blame on the author; some books simply require the right timing and headspace. I plan to give the novel another try in the future, hoping a second reading will reveal more of its resonance.
